PM Shehbaz Sharif Arrives in Saudi Arabia to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Saudi Arabia on an official visit aimed at enhancing Pakistan–Saudi Arabia relations and deepening cooperation in diverse sectors. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Minister is accompanied by senior cabinet members during the trip, reflecting the importance Islamabad attaches to its ties with Riyadh. During the visit, Prime Minister Sharif is scheduled to hold a high-level meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The two leaders are expected to review the full spectrum of bilateral relations, including trade, investment, energy, labor cooperation, and security partnerships. They will also exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual concern. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share a long-standing relationship rooted in religious, cultural, and economic ties. Riyadh is home to a large Pakistani expatriate community whose remittances significantly contribute to Pakistan’s economy. Saudi Arabia has also remained one of Pakistan’s key partners in energy supply, financial assistance, and development projects. Diplomatic observers note that the visit comes at a crucial time as Pakistan seeks to attract foreign investment, stabilize its economy, and enhance regional partnerships. Strengthening ties with Saudi Arabia, a vital player in the Muslim world and global energy market, remains a top priority for Islamabad. The outcome of the talks between Prime Minister Sharif and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is expected to pave the way for new agreements and initiatives, further reinforcing the strategic partnership between the two countries.
