Punjab EPA Bans Vehicles Without Green Stickers from November 15
The Punjab EPA vehicle ban will take effect across the province on November 15. The move aims to control rising air pollution, especially in Lahore. Vehicle owners must now ensure their cars meet emission standards and display a valid green sticker.
Crackdown on Polluting Vehicles
The Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has launched a strict campaign against smoke-emitting vehicles. According to Director General Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh, exhaust testing is now mandatory in Lahore. Vehicles that fail the test will not be allowed on the road.
From November 15 onward, authorities will impound any vehicle without an Exhaust TestingSystem (ETS) certificate or green sticker. As a result, drivers must act fast to avoid fines or confiscation. In addition, legal action will follow for those who ignore the new rules.
EPA’s Zero-Tolerance Policy
Dr. Sheikh said the EPA has adopted a zero-tolerance policy toward polluting vehicles. The campaign marks the agency’s toughest step yet against smog and poor air quality. Officials have started inspecting vehicles in major cities, beginning with Lahore.
Citizens can visit authorized testing centers to get their ETS verification and green sticker. Therefore, experts advise everyone to test their vehicles early. This simple step will help protect both public health and the environment.
The Punjab EPA urges all drivers to cooperate. Together, people can make Punjab’s air cleaner and safer for everyone.
