Rawalpindi Security Lockdown Ahead of Iran-US Talks in Islamabad

A strict Rawalpindi security lockdown is now in place ahead of expected Iran-US talks in Islamabad. Authorities have deployed over 10,000 police personnel across the city. In addition, officials have set up more than 600 checkpoints to monitor movement.
Security forces have sealed sensitive areas near Nur Khan Airbase and Islamabad International Airport. These restrictions began at midnight. As a result, access to key locations remains tightly controlled.

Tight Measures Across Rawalpindi

Officials have banned drone flights, pigeon flying, and aerial firing. These steps aim to protect aircraft carrying foreign delegations. Moreover, police have declared a red alert in high-risk zones.
Authorities have increased rooftop surveillance for better monitoring. In addition, officers are actively patrolling key neighborhoods. Areas under New Town, Sadiqabad, and Chaklala police stations face strict enforcement.
Many businesses must remain closed until further notice. For example, restaurants, parks, markets, and fitness centers have shut down. Similarly, banks, barber shops, and bakeries are not operating.
Police have issued warnings to ensure compliance. Therefore, anyone who breaks these rules may face legal action. However, officials have not yet announced any transport suspension.

Islamabad on High Alert

The federal capital also faces strict security checks. Authorities have tightened monitoring along sensitive routes. As a result, building owners must follow specific security guidelines.
Parking along key routes is completely banned. In addition, unrelated individuals cannot enter restricted zones. Hotels and guesthouses must keep detailed guest records and report daily to police.
Movement on rooftops and balconies is also restricted. If violations occur, authorities will hold property owners responsible. Therefore, residents must follow all instructions carefully.
Officials have urged citizens to report suspicious activity immediately. This Rawalpindi security lockdown highlights strong efforts to ensure safety during high-level talks.
