Responsible Tourism Champions Honored at Brussels Awards Ceremony
Responsible tourism champions received honors at a Brussels awards ceremony. The ICRT Europe Responsible Tourism Forum hosted the event. Press Club Brussels Europe held the ceremony on 23 June 2026. The awards celebrated practical approaches to sustainable tourism. Projects from twelve European countries received recognition.
Award Categories and Winners
TUI Forest Mallorca won the Adapting to Climate Change category. The project restores forests, dune systems, and wildlife habitats. CAS Trips from the Czech Republic received the Championing Cultural Diversity award. Their educational programmes focus on local communities.
Unseen Tours in the United Kingdom won the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion category. The organization employs homeless individuals as walking tour guides. Italy’s Addiopizzo Travel received the Local Economic Benefit award. They direct visitor spending to businesses refusing Mafia protection money.
Club Marvy from Türkiye secured the Nature Positive award. The resort integrates biodiversity conservation into its operations. TUI Field to Fork Greece earned the Regenerative Tourism award. Their programme supports regenerative agriculture across Crete and Rhodes.
Judges’ Comments and Future Steps
Harold Goodwin, founder of ICRT Global, chaired the judging panel. He praised the quality and practicality of the initiatives. Many winners developed approaches that can be replicated elsewhere. These initiatives create lasting benefits for destinations and communities.
Matt Callaghan, COO at easyJet holidays, expressed pride in supporting the awards. He emphasized celebrating and sharing best practices. The awards drive meaningful impact across the industry. Recognizing achievements reinforces commitment to higher standards.
The European gold winners will now compete globally. They will face regional winners from Latin America and Africa. The Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia will also compete. The Global Responsible Tourism Awards will take place in November.
