Officials in five regions reported fatalities overnight.
A Deadly Night for Ukraine
Moscow continues to target Ukrainian cities with drones and missiles. At least 11 civilians have died. Ukraine’s air force said Russia fired 269 drones. Ukrainian forces shot down or jammed 249 of them. However, 19 direct drone hits and one ballistic missile hit were confirmed. Falling debris also caused damage.
Casualties by Region
Three people died in the Kherson region. Two died in Odesa, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. One person died in the Sumy region.
Ukraine Strikes Back
President Volodymyr Zelensky announced new attacks. Ukraine struck three Russian oil tankers. The strikes also hit a cruise-missile carrier warship and a patrol boat. The attacks happened at two different Russian ports.
Zelensky said the tankers were part of Russia’s “shadow fleet”. That fleet helps Russia evade Western sanctions. There are no details yet on the damage to the ships.
