Muhammad Shakeel’s pre-arrest bail request in a bogus cheque case was denied by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, presided over by Justice Malik Shahzad. It is said that Shakeel, who dealt in gold, took three tolas of gold but only gave back one. The prosecution told the court that Shakeel has not been detained despite being involved in ten prior cases. His attorney contended that there was no video or hard proof against him. Justice Shahzad emphasized that merely submitting bail applications does not confer immunity and questioned why the defendants remained free despite many cases. Due to his prior involvement in criminal cases, the judge rejected the plea.
