Spotify Prompted Playlist Expands to Podcasts With AI Discovery Tools

Spotify is expanding its AI feature to improve podcast discovery. The new update brings Spotify podcast playlists powered by user prompts. Previously, the feature focused on music. Now, it also helps users find podcasts more easily. As a result, listeners can create personalized podcast playlists using simple text prompts.

AI Makes Podcast Discovery Easier

The Spotify podcast playlists feature allows users to describe what they want. For example, someone can request true crime shows or trending series.
The AI then builds a playlist based on that input. In addition, each episode includes a short note explaining why it was added. Users can also control how often playlists update. Options include daily, weekly, or no updates. Moreover, the feature is available to premium users in selected countries. These include the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Australia.
According to Spotify, millions of podcasts are discovered weekly. Therefore, this tool aims to make discovery faster and more personal.

More Tools for Creators and Listeners

The Spotify podcast playlists update also benefits creators. It helps older and newer episodes reach the right audience.
In addition, Spotify continues to improve its podcast platform. Earlier updates made it easier for creators to earn from content. For example, creators now need fewer requirements to monetize video podcasts. This change supports more content growth. Meanwhile, Spotify says there are over 530,000 video podcasts on the platform.
Overall, the new feature highlights Spotify’s push toward smarter content discovery using AI.
