A Pew Research Center survey found that 64% of U.S. teens use AI assistants. For example, tools like ChatGPT and Google Gemini appear in school and home routines.
About 28% of respondents said they use these tools every day. As a result, AI feels normal to many students, not experimental.

Usage patterns vary widely among young people. About 4% reported near-constant use, while others check in a few times daily. Another group uses AI several times a week. However, 36% said they do not use these tools at all. Michelle Faverio from Pew called the findings striking. In addition, she noted this was the first broad survey on this topic.
Researchers surveyed 1,458 participants aged 13 to 17. They completed the study online between late September and early October.The results highlight how quickly AI entered mainstream youth culture. This shift began after heavy investment and promotion from technology companies.At the same time, concerns continue to grow. Some families and lawmakers question how these systems affect young users.Several companies now face legal scrutiny related to safety claims.
