Texas AG Sues Roblox Over Child Safety Issues
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit against online gaming platform Roblox, claiming it misled parents about the risks their children face online.
According to Paxton, Roblox has become a breeding ground for predators and puts profit above protection. He accused the company of allowing dangerous behavior to grow unchecked while presenting itself as a safe space for young players.
Paxton’s Strong Accusations
In a recent statement, Paxton said, We cannot allow platforms like Roblox to continue operating as digital playgrounds for predators. He also warned that any company enabling child exploitation would face the full force of the law.
Paxton further argued that Roblox fails to do enough to protect children from inappropriate content and online predators. The lawsuit aims to hold the company accountable and demand stronger child safety measures.
A Growing Wave of Legal Action
This case follows similar lawsuits targeting tech and social platforms over youth safety concerns. Governments and regulators are increasingly scrutinizing how digital platforms protect minors from harmful interactions.
Roblox, which has millions of young users worldwide, previously stated that it invests heavily in content moderation and trust and safety tools. However, this lawsuit could push the company to introduce tougher safeguards and transparency about user protection.
As a result, the outcome may set an important precedent for how gaming and social platforms handle child safety online.
