The Outer Worlds 2 Pre-Load Now Live on Xbox and PC

J00145

The Outer Worlds 2 pre-load is now available on Xbox and PC, letting players prepare for launch ahead of October 29. Obsidian Entertainment has confirmed that the sequel to its 2019 RPG will release for Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PlayStation 5. It promises larger worlds, deeper choices, and more chaos than ever before.

Prepare for Launch

Players using Xbox Series X/S or the Microsoft Store on PC can start downloading the game today. The file size is about 79.5 GB on consoles and 77.3 GB on PC. However, Steam lists a full installation size of around 110 GB, which could increase once the day-one patch arrives. The story follows an Earth Directorate agent traveling to the Arcadia system to investigate mysterious rifts. Along the way, players will meet three major factions: Auntie’s Choice, The Order of the Ascendant, and The Protectorate. Each group has its own goals and morality, forcing players to make choices that shape the world’s balance of power.

Choices and Companions

Obsidian has emphasized freedom and consequence. Every decision affects dialogue, alliances, and endings. The game introduces new companions, each with unique arcs and personalities. They will not always agree with your approach, which keeps the narrative tense and personal. Paradise Island, the first major biome, offers at least twelve hours of gameplay. Exploration reveals hidden quests, alternate routes, and secrets that encourage multiple playthroughs. Obsidian also promises smoother combat, improved weapon crafting, and more expressive facial animation than the first game. The Outer Worlds 2 looks ready to expand the franchise’s trademark humor, satire, and sci-fi depth. Fans can now pre-load and prepare to return to space in one of the year’s most anticipated RPGs.
