Wispr Flow Android App Launch Expands AI Dictation
The Wispr Flow Android app is now officially live. AI dictation startup Wispr Flow launched its Android version after earlier releases on Mac, Windows, and iOS. The move expands its reach to millions of Android users worldwide.
On iOS, users accessed the tool through a custom keyboard. However, Android offers a different experience. The app uses a floating bubble for quick voice input. Users can hold the bubble to dictate instantly. Alternatively, they can tap once to start and press close to stop. In addition, the app removes filler words and formats text automatically. CEO Tanay Kothari said Android allowed more freedom in building voice tools. He believes voice could replace typing on mobile devices. The app supports translation in over 100 languages. It also works across multiple apps. As a result, users can dictate messages, emails, or notes smoothly. Wispr Flow also rebuilt its infrastructure. Therefore, dictation now runs 30% faster than before.
Funding Growth and Hinglish Model
The company introduced a new Hinglish voice model. Hinglish blends Hindi and English in everyday speech. This update helps users in India who switch between both languages.
Kothari said he built the model for people who speak naturally in mixed language. Instead of traditional Hindi script, the tool transcribes Hinglish directly.
Even during early access, users dictated over 1.3 million English words. That signals strong early demand.
Wispr Flow competes with apps like Typeless
It launched on Android recently. However, few AI dictation tools offer this level of cross-language support. Investors continue to back the startup strongly. Menlo Ventures led a $30 million round in June. Later, Notable Capital led another $25 million raise.
In total, Wispr Flow has secured $81 million. Reports value the company at $700 million.
Clearly, the Android launch marks a major step in its growth journey.
