YouTube Premium Price Increase Hits US Subscribers Again

YouTube Premium Price Increase Hits US Subscribers Again

YouTube Premium price increase is now official in the United States. YouTube confirmed higher subscription costs for its services. As a result, users will soon pay more each month. The individual Premium plan now costs $15.99, up from $13.99. Meanwhile, the family plan jumps to $26.99. The Lite plan also increases to $8.99 per month.

Higher Costs Across Music and Streaming

YouTube Music prices are rising as well. The individual plan moves to $11.99, while the family plan reaches $18.99. Therefore, both music and video users face higher bills.
The company says this is the first price update since 2023. It claims the increase supports better features and content. For example, users still get ad-free viewing and background play.
Subscribers will receive email notifications before the change. In addition, the new pricing applies to both new and existing users. This means no one avoids the update.

YouTube also shared strong growth numbers.

It reached 125 million subscribers across Premium and Music services. As a result, demand for paid content continues to rise. Other platforms have also raised prices recently. Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Spotify all increased costs. Therefore, this trend is spreading across the streaming industry. Overall, the YouTube Premium price increase reflects a broader shift. Streaming services are adjusting prices while expanding features and content.
