Pakistan Post Resumes International Mail to 188 Countries After Suspension
Pakistan has restored Pakistan Post international mail services to 188 destinations with immediate effect. The department resumed operations after a temporary halt caused by the Middle East conflict. As a result, customers can now send outbound mail to many countries again.
Officials shared the update through an official press release. They explained that disruptions had affected logistics and transport routes. However, new arrangements now allow smoother handling of international shipments.
The move brings relief to businesses and individuals who rely on global mail services. Therefore, many delayed shipments can now move forward without further interruptions.
New Transit Routes Ensure Smooth Operations
Pakistan Post has set up coordination with seven international transit hubs. These hubs will help route mail efficiently across different regions. For example, Azerpost will handle mail via Baku, while Emirates Post will manage shipments through Dubai.
In addition, Pos Malaysia will route items via Kuala Lumpur, and Turkish Post will support deliveries through Istanbul. PostNL will assist through Amsterdam, while Australia Post and China Post will manage routes via Sydney and Beijing.
These partnerships aim to reduce delays and improve reliability. As a result, customers can expect better service continuity. Officials also confirmed that services to more countries will resume in phases.
Some Destinations Still Face Suspension
Despite the progress, Pakistan Post continues to suspend mail booking for 19 destinations. These include Afghanistan, Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, India, Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, and Yemen. However, the department plans to restore these routes once conditions improve. Officials will finalize operational arrangements before reopening services. In the meantime, customers should check updates before sending mail.
Pakistan Post also highlighted that Pakistan International Airlines supports direct routes for some destinations. Therefore, this option helps maintain limited connectivity.
Overall, the restoration marks a positive step. Still, authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and adjust services as needed.
