Pakistan Secures Iran-US Peace Accord Through Landmark Diplomatic Effort

Pakistan secured a major diplomatic victory with the Iran-US Peace Accord on Thursday. The agreement followed weeks of intensive negotiations. As a result, tensions between Iran and the United States eased significantly. The breakthrough also strengthened Pakistan’s image as a responsible global mediator. Many experts had doubted such an outcome. However, Islamabad continued its efforts and helped both sides choose dialogue over conflict.

Pakistan Drives Peace Process

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif signed the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding after both countries endorsed the agreement. Officials described the accord as a historic achievement for Pakistan. They said their goal was to prevent a wider regional conflict.
Throughout the crisis, Pakistan kept communication channels open with Tehran and Washington. In addition, Pakistani diplomats encouraged both sides to remain engaged in talks. Their efforts eventually helped bring the rivals to the negotiating table.
Initially, leaders planned to sign the agreement in Switzerland. Later, US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian approved the document digitally. Prime Minister Shehbaz then endorsed it as the chief facilitator of the process.
The accord delivered immediate results. The United States eased naval restrictions, while Iran reopened the Strait of Hormuz. Consequently, global markets responded positively and fears of disruption declined.

Global Praise for Pakistan

Several countries welcomed Pakistan’s role in achieving peace. Moreover, European and Gulf governments praised Islamabad’s diplomatic engagement. President Trump also publicly acknowledged Pakistan’s contribution.
Meanwhile, reports from Iran showed strong public support for the agreement. Citizens expressed relief after months of uncertainty. Many also thanked Pakistan for helping reduce tensions.
Diplomats reported positive reactions across different sections of society. Students, workers, business owners and professionals shared similar views. Although challenges remain, the Iran-US Peace Accord has created new hope. For Pakistan, the achievement marks a defining moment in modern diplomacy and highlights the power of sustained engagement.
