India Pakistan hockey clash ends in thrilling 4-3 victory for India

The India Pakistan hockey clash produced another thrilling chapter in their historic rivalry. India secured a hard-fought 4-3 victory in the FIH Pro Hockey League. As a result, Pakistan remained without a win in the competition. Pakistan started strongly and took an early advantage. Nadeem Ahmed converted a penalty corner in the seventh minute. However, India controlled possession and kept building pressure.

India Turn the Match Around

India found the breakthrough in the second quarter. Abhishek scored in the 21st minute after several important saves from goalkeeper Ali Raza. Soon after, Nilakanta Sharma added another goal to put India ahead. Pakistan created opportunities before halftime but lacked a finishing touch. Therefore, India carried a 2-1 lead into the break. The momentum clearly favored the Indian side. India continued their dominance after halftime. Sukhjeet Singh extended the lead in the 39th minute. Later, Rajinder Singh scored in the 51st minute to make it 4-1. Pakistan refused to give up and pushed forward. Abu Bakr Mahmood reduced the deficit in the 53rd minute. Then, Moin Shakeel scored in the final moments. However, India held firm and secured all three points. The defeat marked Pakistan’s 13th straight loss in the nine-team tournament. Furthermore, India extended their unbeaten run against Pakistan in competitive matches since 2016.

FIH Issues Official Apology

The match also featured an off-field controversy. Before the game, organizers displayed an incorrect version of Pakistan’s national flag. The white section was missing from the design shown on the field. Following the incident, the International Hockey Federation issued an apology. It accepted responsibility for the mistake and expressed regret. In addition, officials promised to review procedures and prevent similar errors in future events.
