The authority will provide the service through PakID and several other channels. The initiative follows special directions from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. NADRA coordinated the move with the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defense, CGA and MAG.The service aims to help elderly, bedridden and differently-abled pensioners. It also supports people who struggle to visit banks or pension offices.

Pensioners can access the certificate from homePensioners can use the PakID mobile application to obtain the certificate digitally. They can complete the process from home without visiting a service centre. An immediate family member can also apply through their own PakID account. However, the applicant must complete the required identity verification process.

Pensioners can also visit more than 5,000 e-Sahulat franchises across Pakistan. NADRA offers the service free at these locations. In addition, more than 988 NADRA Registration Centers provide the certificate. Around 500 Union Councils also offer the service with preferential treatment.NADRA also provides the facility through mobile registration vans and biker services. Man-pack registration services can further assist people with limited mobility.

National Pensioners Register expands digital verification

NADRA has also established a National Pensioners Register. The first phase includes pensioners managed by the Controller General of Accounts and Military Accountant General. The register provides a digital reference for identity and life-status verification. It also reduces the need for pensioners to report the same information repeatedly.NADRA now sends daily digital updates to relevant pension controllers. These updates cover reported deaths and certain changes affecting family pension eligibility.

Banks can also verify pensioners’ proof-of-life status through the register. This system can reduce reliance on repeated physical and paper-based checks.NADRA plans to expand the register further. The next phase will include more federal and provincial pensioners, public-sector bodies and private institutions. The new system aims to simplify pension verification. It also helps authorities and banks access updated and verified information.
