Pakistani Students Win Global Model UN Singapore Titles
Young Pakistani students have brought international recognition to the country by winning major titles at Global Model UN Singapore. The delegation from Westminster Islamabad secured both the World Champions and Best Delegation awards.
The Pakistani team competed against more than 700 students from over 50 countries. The World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) organised the event as a realistic United Nations simulation.
Students Deliver Outstanding Performance
A team of 10 students represented Pakistan at the international conference. They secured eight Best Diplomacy Awards and earned two places for plenary speeches.Four delegates were only 12 years old. Rujwa Fatima, Mohammad Zurez, Asna Ahmad and Syed Rehan Shah impressed participants with their strong performances.Their achievements highlighted the confidence and diplomatic skills of Pakistan’s young students. Moreover, their performance earned widespread appreciation from officials and delegates.
Nushwa Fatima and Saifullah Omar Mufti also earned a place among only 12 students worldwide. They addressed the opening ceremony before an international audience representing more than 50 countries.
Nushwa delivered an inspiring speech during the ceremony. She highlighted the importance of multilateralism and discussed the rights of Muslims in Gaza.
She also presented recommendations for United Nations reforms. Her proposals focused on promoting greater equity and justice at the global level.
Students Showcase Pakistani Culture
The students also promoted Pakistan’s cultural diversity during the conference. They participated in the Global Cultural Night held on August 14.The event allowed delegates to showcase their national and regional traditions. Therefore, the Pakistani students represented both their diplomatic abilities and cultural heritage.
According to a press release, UN officials and participating nations praised the students. They highlighted the delegation’s work ethic, professionalism, talent and diplomatic skills.The conference took place from August 11 to 15. The students’ success has brought fresh recognition to Pakistan’s growing presence in international youth diplomacy.
