Treyarch Studios confirmed a major Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta update coming this weekend. The update addresses debated issues since early access began on October 2. Player concerns about time-to-kill (TTK), doors, progression speed, and stability will see adjustments before the open beta starts on October 5.
Major Changes Coming This Weekend
The beta currently runs for pre-orders and promotional partners like Xfinity, EE, and Twitch drops. With the open beta approaching, Treyarch focuses on community feedback to fine-tune balance and performance.
TTK sparked the most discussion. Players said matches ended too quickly, punishing small mistakes. Treyarch will slow TTK slightly while keeping every weapon’s role intact.
Players also criticized doors. Automatic doors caused frustration, so the update will keep some doors permanently open, extend open times, and increase activation distance. These changes aim to smooth map flow.
Progression gets a boost too. Weapon XP rates will rise, Overclock earn rates will increase, and spawn logic improvements will enhance gameplay testing. The update also includes multiple stability fixes.
The Gravemaker scorestreak remains unchanged. Its ability to see enemies through walls and one-shot opponents divided players, and Treyarch will not adjust it during the beta.
These updates show Treyarch’s commitment to rapid iteration. They plan more tweaks throughout October as beta testing continues.
