Danyal Chaudhry Announces Media Internships for Bahria University Students
Danyal Chaudhry announced 20 media internships for students of Bahria University during the opening ceremony of Media Fest Spring 2026. He said the government wanted to help young people enter the professional media industry through practical opportunities. In addition, he stressed the importance of responsible journalism in fighting misinformation and promoting Pakistan’s positive image.
Speaking as the chief guest at the event, Barrister Danyal described media as a “sacred national trust” instead of an ordinary profession. He said nations that rely on truth and honesty shape history and influence societies. Furthermore, he explained that responsible journalism had become more important in a time filled with fake news and negative narratives.
Responsible Journalism Remains Essential
Addressing students, teachers, and media professionals, Danyal said a single truthful news story could change the thinking of an entire nation. Therefore, he urged aspiring journalists to focus on accuracy and social responsibility in their work.
He also praised Bahria University graduates working in leading television channels and public media organizations. According to him, events like Media Fest encourage innovation, creativity, and constructive expression among young people.
Danyal highlighted Pakistan’s growing youth population and said more than 60 percent of the country consists of young people. As a result, today’s media students would become tomorrow’s journalists, producers, and opinion leaders representing Pakistan globally.
Government Plans More Internship Programs
The parliamentary secretary advised students to focus on social impact instead of chasing ratings and viral trends. He said meaningful journalism aimed at positive social change was the true measure of success.
Referring to recent national developments, Danyal praised Pakistani media outlets for supporting the national narrative during critical times. He also informed the audience that Pakistan Television Corporation already runs internship programs for students.
