Drones Create First-Ever FIFA Scoreboard in Seattle Sky
Four hundred drones lit up the night sky in Seattle on Monday. They created the first-ever FIFA scoreboard in the sky. The drones displayed the score of the Egypt v Belgium match.BBC reporter Max Matza witnessed the event. He is in Seattle, Washington. “It’s like bringing the party here,” said one spectator.
How It Worked
The drone show was organised by Visit Seattle. Sky Elements, a Texas-based company, operated the fleet. The drones flew above the iconic Space Needle.
This was the first of six planned shows. Each show will display the final score of World Cup matches hosted in Seattle. As a result, fans can enjoy a unique spectacle after each game.
Why It Matters
This drone scoreboard is a world first. It transforms the city skyline into a giant display of match results. Therefore, it is a major attraction for both residents and visitors. The show is part of Seattle’s celebrations for hosting the FIFA World Cup.
