Lahore Orders Crackdown on LPG School Vans and Overloading
Lahore traffic police have ordered a strict crackdown on overloaded vehicles and LPG cylinders in school transport. Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi issued the directions on Saturday.The new rules target school vans, rickshaws and buses carrying children. Strict Rules for School Transport
Shirazi ordered officers to stop school vehicles from using LPG cylinders. He said authorities would take strict action to protect schoolchildren from potential risks.The CTO also banned rickshaw drivers from seating children on the front seat. Drivers cannot hang schoolbags or other items from the sides of their vehicles.
Furthermore, passengers cannot sit on the front seat of rickshaws operating on Canal Road. The restrictions aim to reduce accidents and improve passenger safety.Pickup drivers also face new restrictions. They can carry only one passenger on the front seat.Traffic officials will monitor compliance and take action against violators.
