Pakistan Customs Intensifies Crackdown on Fuel and Goods Smuggling
Pakistan Customs has launched major anti-smuggling operations in different cities across the country. Authorities seized more than 2.5 million liters of High-Speed Diesel allegedly transported illegally to Karachi. Officials said smugglers used manipulated auction documents linked to Customs and another law enforcement agency. As a result, investigators registered an FIR and started a detailed inquiry.
Customs officials described the case as a major crackdown on illegal fuel transportation. Authorities named several companies during the investigation. These include Al-Noor Petroleum Limited, Fuel XL Petroleum Limited, AlRaheem Trading Company, and Caspian Oil. Officials believe suspects stored and moved fuel under the cover of fake auction records. Therefore, investigators are now working to identify all individuals involved.
Customs Seizes Smuggled Betel Nut in Khuzdar
Meanwhile, the Field Enforcement Unit in Khuzdar intercepted a passenger bus on the RCD Highway after receiving intelligence reports. Customs teams stopped the vehicle near Pir Umer Police Chowki on May 23, 2026. During the search, officials recovered a huge quantity of smuggled betel nut hidden inside the bus.
Authorities seized 948 bags weighing 13 kilograms each. The recovered betel nut weighed 12,324 kilograms in total. Officials estimated the value of the seized goods at Rs. 61.62 million. In addition, authorities valued the confiscated bus at Rs. 12 million. Consequently, the total case value reached nearly Rs. 73.62 million.
Lahore Raid Targets Smuggled Tyres
In another operation, Customs Enforcement Lahore raided the Truck Adda tyre market with support from the Intelligence Bureau. Officials said some people resisted the raid. However, Customs teams controlled the situation and completed the operation successfully.
Authorities seized 1,341 smuggled tyres of different sizes and brands. Officials estimated the value of the tyres at nearly Rs. 23.2 million. Customs authorities said these operations reflect stronger nationwide efforts against smuggling and illegal trade networks.
