Police have registered a Peshawar hostel fire FIR after a serious incident at Agriculture University Peshawar. Authorities filed the case after students allegedly set fire to a university hostel following a clash. Officials confirmed the FIR was registered at the University Campus Police Station. The incident triggered a detailed investigation and security review. Police said they are treating the case as a major law-and-order issue.
Incident Details and Damage Report
According to the FIR, the fire broke out at 1:45 am on May 12. Officials said a clash first occurred between students and canteen staff earlier that night. Therefore, tensions increased inside the hostel and escalated into violence. Police said four students have been identified using CCTV footage and photographic evidence. In addition, investigators are reviewing more recordings to trace additional suspects.
The accused allegedly set fire to the main gate, reception area, and room doors. They also broke windows in the office section. As a result, the hostel suffered severe structural damage. Computers, records, CCTV cameras, and electrical wiring were destroyed. Furthermore, the warden’s room, sofas, television, and cupboards were completely burned.
