Punjab Boards Launch Digital Result Card System for Students

All nine educational boards in Punjab have approved a Digital Result Card System. The move will modernise examination records and make student services easier. Students will soon access their result cards online instead of receiving printed copies.

Digital Cards Will Replace Printed Results

Under the new system, students can download their result cards from online portals. They can print the documents at home or use commercial printing services.

The system will also reduce costs for students. Boards currently charge Rs550 for traditional result cards during admission. Students will no longer pay this fee after the digital system becomes fully operational.

The boards will introduce the system in phases. The first phase will cover Class IX and First Year annual results. Class X and Second Year results will follow in the second phase.

However, boards will issue printed result cards for results announced on August 6. They will continue the current process during this transition period.

Digital cards will become available soon after boards announce results. Both regular and private candidates will receive access to the new service.

Regular students can access their documents through their institutions’ online portals. Private candidates can download their cards directly from their respective board websites.

QR Codes Will Help Verify Results

Each digital result card will carry a QR code and other security features. These tools will help institutions and employers confirm the document’s authenticity.

The boards have also confirmed the legal status of these digital documents. They will recognise them as official government records.

Therefore, students can use digital result cards for admissions and employment. They can also use them for scholarships, equivalence certificates, verification, and other official purposes.

The initiative marks an important step toward digital education services in Punjab. It could also make examination records easier to access and verify.
