Punjab Juvenile Driving Permits Campaign to Begin in Schools This August
The Punjab Traffic Police will launch a Punjab juvenile permits awareness campaign in schools and colleges across the province after educational institutions reopen in August. The initiative follows directives issued by the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Punjab. The campaign aims to educate students about juvenile driving permits, traffic laws, and responsible driving habits. Officials believe the program will help young drivers understand road safety before they begin driving.
Students to learn permit rules
SSP Traffic Syed Nadeem Abbas has directed all Chief Traffic Officers (CTOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) to organize awareness sessions in educational institutions. These sessions will explain who can apply for juvenile driving permits and how students can complete the legal application process. In addition, traffic officials will highlight the importance of following road rules and driving responsibly.
The campaign will also focus on safe driving practices. For example, students will learn about speed limits, traffic signs, seat belt use, and the dangers of reckless driving. Officials hope these lessons will encourage young people to become responsible road users from an early age.
Road safety remains the main goal
The Punjab Traffic Police said the awareness drive will begin as soon as schools and colleges resume classes in August. Authorities have instructed traffic officials in every district to ensure the campaign reaches as many students as possible. Therefore, educational institutions will play an important role in promoting road safety across the province.
Eligible students will also receive guidance on obtaining juvenile driving permits through the prescribed legal procedure. Officials want young drivers to complete the licensing process instead of driving without authorization.
