Punjab Schools to Remain Open Province-Wide, Except in Jhelum

The Punjab government has confirmed that all public and private schools and colleges across the province will stay open on Monday, October 13, 2025. The decision came after a careful review of the security situation.

No Province-Wide Closure

The Education Department stated that classes will continue as usual in every district. Officials dismissed social media rumors suggesting a province-wide shutdown. They emphasized that no general closure has been ordered, and educational institutions will operate under normal conditions.
In addition, school administrations have been advised to maintain regular attendance and follow standard safety guidelines. The department assured parents that there is no cause for concern and that learning will proceed without interruption.

Jhelum Schools to Close for One Day

However, the situation in Jhelum district is different. The local administration there has decided to close all public and private schools and colleges for one day on October 13.
According to the District Education Authority (DEA) Jhelum, the temporary closure is a precautionary measure. The decision was made due to local law and order concerns to protect students, teachers, and staff.
Authorities have directed school heads to notify parents and staff immediately. Classes are expected to resume on Tuesday, October 14, unless new instructions are issued.
This localized decision highlights the government’s commitment to both education continuity and student safety. Therefore, parents across Punjab can expect normal school operations, with only Jhelum observing a one-day break.
