Punjab Student Data Audit: 1.7M Records Flagged for B-Form Errors

Punjab Student Data Audit: 1.7M Records Flagged for B-Form Errors

The Punjab student data audit has exposed serious gaps in school records. The Punjab Education Department reviewed public school data and found errors in nearly 1.7 million entries. As a result, officials have launched immediate corrective steps.
Authorities identified missing and incorrect B-Form numbers. These issues raised concerns about transparency and tracking. Therefore, the department moved quickly to fix the problem.

Digitisation and Faster Verification

The department has ordered full digitisation of student data. Schools must now update correct B-Form details in the School Information System. This move will improve accuracy and reduce manual errors.
Officials will also speed up the Unique Student ID system. Each student will receive a verified ID number. In addition, this step will help prevent duplication in records.
District Education Authorities must ensure quick action. They have received clear instructions to fix errors without delay. Meanwhile, school heads must verify each B-Form before entering data into the system.

Deadline and Accountability

The department has set April 30, 2026, as the final deadline. Schools must complete all corrections before this date. This includes students who still do not have B-Forms.
Officials want complete and reliable records across Punjab. As a result, they have strengthened monitoring at every level. In addition, accurate data will support better planning and policy decisions.
This initiative aims to modernise the education system. Reliable records will improve resource allocation and student tracking. In conclusion, the audit highlights the urgent need for strong data management in schools.
