School Safety Directive: Punjab Orders Strict Closing Checks

The Punjab government has enforced a school safety directive to protect students. Officials want schools to ensure that no child remains on campus after closing. Therefore, authorities have ordered strict monitoring in all institutions.
The Punjab School Education Department issued clear instructions to school heads. Officials asked them to take full responsibility for student safety. They must ensure that every child leaves the school safely each day.

Strict Checks at Closing Time

School staff must check all areas before closing. These include classrooms, washrooms, laboratories, libraries, and playgrounds. In addition, staff must confirm that no student remains inside the premises.
Schools must assign one teacher or staff member daily. This person will monitor student departure on a rotating basis. As a result, schools can maintain consistent supervision every day.
The assigned staff member must stay until all students leave. They cannot leave early under any condition. Meanwhile, school heads must actively supervise this process.

Accountability and Immediate Implementation

Authorities have stressed strict accountability for this directive. School heads will face responsibility for any negligence. Therefore, they must ensure full compliance without delay.
The directive applies to both public and private schools. Officials have ordered immediate implementation across the province. Moreover, they have warned that violations will lead to serious action.
Schools must submit compliance reports within 24 hours. This step ensures transparency and quick response from authorities. In conclusion, the school safety directive aims to create a safe and secure environment for every student.
