School Staff Attendance Ordered During Summer Vacations

The District Education Authority has directed government school employees to maintain school staff attendance during summer vacations. Officials said teachers and administrative workers must remain available at schools during the holiday period. In addition, authorities may assign staff to nearby intermediate examination centers if needed during ongoing exams.
According to the issued instructions, teachers already performing examination duties will not need to report to schools. However, school heads must arrange substitute employees for examination supervision when required. Authorities said the decision aims to ensure smooth exam operations without delays or staff shortages.

Authorities Issue Strict Attendance Instructions

The District Education Authority instructed all government school staff to remain present on May 22 and May 25 without exception. Officials warned that schools must follow the attendance orders during the vacation period. Therefore, administrators have started preparing duty schedules for teachers and support staff.
Authorities also said examination centers could face invigilation shortages during intermediate exams. As a result, nearby school employees may receive temporary duties at those centers. Officials believe this step will help maintain discipline and transparency during examinations.
Furthermore, education officials asked school heads to cooperate fully with examination authorities. They also stressed the importance of timely staff deployment during the exam season.

No Papers Scheduled During Eid Holidays

Meanwhile, board authorities announced that no intermediate examination papers will take place from May 26 to May 31 because of Eid al-Azha holidays. Officials said the temporary pause would help students, teachers, and families prepare for the religious occasion.
Education authorities added that regular examination schedules would resume after the Eid break. In addition, officials assured students that boards would continue exams according to the revised timetable without unnecessary delays.
The latest instructions have sparked discussion among teachers and school workers. However, authorities insist the measures are necessary to support examination activities and maintain smooth operations during the vacation period.
