Sindh College Education Department Orders Official Websites for Colleges in 30 Days
The Sindh College Education Department has directed all regional directorates, attached offices, and public colleges to launch official college websites within 30 days. The department said the move will improve transparency, public access, and communication with students and other stakeholders. It also warned that institutions failing to meet the deadline could face administrative action.
Colleges Must Launch Websites Within 30 Days
The department issued the directive through an official circular. It noted that many regional offices and public colleges still do not have official websites despite the growing need for digital public services.
According to the circular, every institution must develop and maintain a functional website. Each website should include the office profile, contact details, notifications, circulars, public notices, and a staff directory. In addition, institutions must publish their organizational structure, academic programs, admission details, available facilities, and graduation fee structures.
The department also instructed colleges to upload downloadable forms, applications, policies, and compliance-related information. Furthermore, every website must provide a grievance redressal or feedback system to help students and the public communicate with the institution more effectively.
IT Wing to Provide Technical Support
The department said its IT wing will assist institutions throughout the development process. Officials will provide support for website design, hosting, cybersecurity, content migration, maintenance, and accessibility standards. As a result, colleges will receive technical guidance to ensure all websites meet uniform standards.
The circular directed all concerned officers, including the director general, regional directors, principals, and directors, to ensure timely compliance. Moreover, every website must become fully functional and publicly accessible within 30 days of the order.
After completing the task, institutions must submit compliance reports to the department without delay. The department stressed that digital access has become essential for delivering public services and sharing information efficiently. Therefore, it expects every institution to follow the directive within the given timeframe. Officials warned that failure to comply with the order could lead to action under the relevant rules and regulations.
