The Ministry of Education (MOE) of Taiwan hosted a two-day education and career fair in Bangkok on Aug. 30-31, aiming to expand academic exchange and industrial collaboration with Thailand.
The event brought together 39 Taiwanese universities and 12 corporations, according to the MOE. Universities highlighted their programs, scholarships, application procedures, and counseling services, while companies provided on-site consultations on internships and career planning. Students also received information about language proficiency testing, further supporting their preparation for study in Taiwan.
The MOE said the initiative follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding on June 20 between the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand and the Thailand Trade and Economic Office Taipei. The agreement seeks to strengthen cooperation in vocational education and internship opportunities for Thai students.
In related developments, the Taiwan-Thailand International Talent Circulation Base was inaugurated in Bangkok on Aug. 29. The base will promote academic exchange, provide preparatory Mandarin courses, and serve as a platform for international collaboration. It also supports the ministry’s broader goal of making Taiwan a preferred destination for both education and careers.
The ministry noted that Taiwan has emerged as a regional hub for cultivating young talent, offering diverse academic resources, a global learning environment, and engaged faculty. In 2024, more than 120,000 foreign students pursued studies in Taiwan, including 5,000 from Thailand—making Thailand the sixth-largest source of overseas learners.
Through such initiatives, Taiwan continues to strengthen its role as an international education and talent hub.
