The Expanse: Osiris Reborn Closed Beta Now Available for Founders
Developer Owlcat Games announces the closed beta for The Expanse: Osiris Reborn is now available on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. The Expanse Osiris Reborn beta runs until the game’s full launch in spring 2027. The beta is more akin to an Early Access release than a traditional test. Only users who purchase the Collector’s Edition or Miller’s Pack via the official website can access it. Founders can choose to play as either a female character from the Belt or a male character from Earth. Players also choose between specializing in officer or hacker abilities. Your openhearted sibling J and veteran mechanic Zafar accompany you throughout the beta.
Closed Beta Content
The beta takes place on a remote space station belonging to your employer, Pinkwater Security. You have just escaped from the catastrophic events on Eros, famously known from the books and TV series. Players can interact with the station’s inhabitants and experiment with dialogue options and choices. You discover how everyday life on a space station full of mercenaries actually works.
Once the masterminds behind the attack on Eros catch up to you, combat begins. Players experience the game’s upgrade mechanics firsthand during these encounters. The final game will also allow players to choose Mars as a background alongside the Belt and Earth. More specializations and customization will be available in the final game than in the beta.
How to Access
Founders must log in to their account on the official website and go to the Digital Download tab. There, you will see an option to choose a platform for Beta access. Click the “Choose the platform” button and select Steam, Xbox, or PlayStation 5. Copy the code, activate it on your chosen platform, download the
Beta, and start playing.
Owlcat aims to incorporate valuable player feedback collected from the beta into the final game. Performance may vary during the beta and won’t reflect final quality. Playing on Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5 is recommended for the best experience on consoles. The full launch follows for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG in spring 2027.
