WhatsApp Multi-Account Feature Now Available for All iPhone Users
WhatsApp Multi-Account is now rolling out widely to iPhone users worldwide. The new feature allows people to use two WhatsApp accounts on a single iPhone without needing a second device or the WhatsApp Business app. The update arrives with WhatsApp for iOS version 26.22.76. It gives users a simpler way to manage personal and work conversations while keeping everything separate.
WhatsApp Expands Multi-Account Support on iOS
WhatsApp first announced support for multiple accounts on iOS in March 2026. However, the feature initially reached only a limited group of users. Now, WhatsApp has expanded access to everyone using the latest App Store version. Users can add a second account directly from the app settings and switch between accounts whenever needed.
Previously, many users relied on workarounds. For example, some installed WhatsApp Business alongside the main app. Others used a second phone for another account. The new system removes those limitations and offers a more convenient solution. Each account maintains its own chat history, calls, notifications, privacy settings, and profile information. As a result, users can keep conversations organized without mixing personal and professional messages.
How the New Feature Works
Setting up a second account is straightforward. Users can select the “Add Account” option in settings and register another phone number. They can also use a QR code to link an additional account. Switching accounts is equally simple. Users can tap the account section or press and hold the You tab for quick access. At present, WhatsApp supports up to two accounts on the same iPhone.
In addition, notifications continue to work for both accounts. Incoming calls and messages appear even when one account is inactive. Users can instantly switch accounts from a notification and respond without logging out. WhatsApp also makes account recovery easier. Saved phone numbers and optional passkeys help users sign back in faster while maintaining security. The company says the feature is now available to all users. Therefore, anyone who has not received it yet should update WhatsApp through the App Store.
