WhatsApp Expands Liquid Glass Design to More iOS Features
WhatsApp is preparing more WhatsApp Liquid Glass updates for its iOS app. The company wants to extend the design across more interface elements. WhatsApp introduced its broader Liquid Glass redesign earlier this year. The company had tested the updated look for more than six months. Now, WhatsApp is preparing additional changes for its iOS app. The drawing editor and video player could soon receive the refreshed design.
The drawing editor lets users edit photos, videos, and GIFs before sharing them. Its buttons support text, drawing tools, stickers, and other editing options. WhatsApp plans to give these controls a Liquid Glass appearance. This change should make the editor feel more consistent with the rest of iOS.
Video Player Also Gets a Refresh
The video player could receive a redesigned progress bar. This bar shows users how far they have progressed through a video. WhatsApp has already tested Liquid Glass changes for other features. These include the voice message player, message reactions, and context menus. However, the latest features remain under development. WABetaInfo reports that they are not yet available for beta testing.
Some iPhone users also say they still lack the original Liquid Glass redesign. Therefore, WhatsApp may need more time before completing the wider rollout.
The Changes Also Highlight Meta's
Continued focus on Apple’s newer visual language. Similar Liquid Glass work is appearing across iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. For now, users cannot enable the upcoming features manually. WhatsApp must first complete development and testing before a public release.
