Borderlands 4 DLC Brings Back FL4K on September 10
Gearbox has officially announced Borderlands 4 DLC Story Pack 2, bringing back fan-favorite Vault Hunter FL4K on September 10. Titled FL4K and the Last Resort, the expansion introduces a brand-new story, a new playable Vault Hunter named Loveless the Hacker, additional weapons, a new map, and a major boss battle. The announcement follows the release of the first DLC, Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned, which launched earlier this year. Despite criticism over the first expansion’s pricing, many fans are excited to see FL4K return to the Borderlands universe.
FL4K Returns in Borderlands 4 DLC
Borderlands 4 DLC Story Pack 2 follows FL4K as the Beastmaster continues the Hunt across Kairos. However, this mission becomes personal after FL4K’s loyal Skag companion, Mr. Chew, mysteriously disappears. Players will follow FL4K’s search while uncovering new threats throughout the expansion. Gearbox revealed the first teaser trailer on social media, giving fans a glimpse of the returning Vault Hunter alongside the newest character, Loveless the Hacker. Although FL4K plays a major role in the story, players cannot control the Beastmaster directly in this expansion.
Loveless the Hacker Joins the Fight
Instead of making FL4K playable, Gearbox introduces Loveless the Hacker as Borderlands 4’s sixth and final Vault Hunter. Loveless is a former Anshin hacker turned cyborg assassin who carries a dangerous digital virus inside her mind. Furthermore, she can create physical digital projections similar to Zane’s Digi-Clone ability from Borderlands 3. Alongside the new character, the DLC adds a brand-new map zone, challenging boss encounters, and a collection of Legendary and Pearlescent weapons that expand the game’s loot system.
More Borderlands Content Arrives Soon
Borderlands fans will not have to wait until September for new content. Gearbox will release Bounty Pack 4 on July 30, adding a new mission, powerful bosses, fresh Legendary and Pearlescent gear, and additional cosmetics for Vault Hunters, vehicles, and ECHO drones. Meanwhile, the Borderlands Dead ECHO audio drama continues releasing new episodes every week across Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Podcasts. With FL4K returning, Loveless joining the roster, and even more post-launch content planned, Borderlands 4 continues expanding its universe despite mixed reactions to its previous DLC.
