KP School Grants Increased as Government Approves New PTC Funding Structure

KP School Grants have received a major boost after the provincial government approved a revised funding structure for public schools. The move aims to improve school facilities, strengthen management, and support student enrollment. Officials believe the new funding model will help schools address essential needs more effectively.

Government Raises PTC Funding for Schools

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has significantly increased Parent-Teacher Council (PTC) grants across public schools. The provincial cabinet approved a new framework that divides grants into three categories. This approach aims to ensure better use of resources and improved school administration.
Under the revised policy, the classroom consumables grant has increased from Rs6,000 to Rs13,000 per classroom. Likewise, the repair grant has risen from Rs7,000 to Rs16,000 per classroom. These increases will help schools purchase learning materials and carry out maintenance work more efficiently.
Officials said the enhanced funding reflects the government’s commitment to improving educational facilities. In addition, schools will have greater flexibility to address their immediate operational needs. As a result, administrators expect a better learning environment for students and teachers alike.

New Student Grant to Boost Enrollment and Attendance

The government has also introduced a new per-student capitation grant worth Rs300. Authorities expect this initiative to encourage higher enrollment and improve attendance rates in public schools. Furthermore, the grant will provide schools with additional financial support based on student numbers.
According to officials, the government has allocated Rs6.185 billion annually for PTC grants. The Finance Department has already released Rs3.073 billion for the third and fourth quarters of the fiscal year.
Out of the released amount, Rs2.7387 billion has been allocated to settled districts. Meanwhile, merged districts have received Rs334.2 million. Authorities confirmed that the latest release has completed 100% disbursement of PTC grants to schools. Therefore, institutions across the province can now utilize the funds to improve facilities, strengthen management, and support quality education.
