This move signals growing confidence in Samsung’s future direction.

New Division for Future Tech

The company introduced RX, short for Robotics eXperience. This new unit will combine all robotics efforts under one structure. Therefore, Samsung aims to improve efficiency and innovation. CEO TM Roh will directly lead this division. His involvement highlights the importance of robotics in Samsung’s strategy. In addition, the unit will focus on both development and commercialization. Samsung plans to build strong foundations in robotics technology. For example, it will invest in advanced systems and automation tools. This approach supports long term growth goals.

Focus on Physical AI

Earlier, Samsung announced a major investment plan. It will invest about 60 trillion won in the Yeongnam region. This includes key sites like Gumi, which will play a major role. Out of this amount, 19 trillion won is allocated for Gumi projects. Samsung will partner with Samsung SDS for this effort. Together, they will develop AI infrastructure and humanoid robots.

Global Growth Plans

The new robotics unit will expand beyond South Korea. Samsung plans to set up research centers in the U.S., China, and Japan. This global approach will boost innovation and collaboration. Moreover, Samsung strengthened its position in robotics earlier. It increased its stake in Rainbow Robotics. As a result, it became the largest shareholder in the company. This step shows Samsung’s serious commitment to robotics. In addition, it helps the company access advanced technologies and expertise. Overall, Samsung robotics expansion marks a major shift in strategy. The company is now focusing on physical AI and automation. Therefore, this move could shape the future of technology worldwide.
