UNDP AI Internship 2026 Opens for Pakistani Students and Graduates
The UNDP AI Internship 2026 is now open for Pakistani students and recent graduates. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) announced the fully remote opportunity through its Digital, AI and Innovation Hub. The programme allows participants to contribute to international technology projects from Pakistan. In addition, successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend under UNDP policy. Applications will remain open until September 30, 2026.
Internship offers global AI experience
The internship focuses on using artificial intelligence and digital innovation to solve global challenges. These include poverty, climate change, inequality and sustainable development. Therefore, participants will work on projects that support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Pakistani applicants can apply for several workstreams. These include Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Systems Innovation and Data Governance. As a result, students and graduates from different academic backgrounds can find opportunities that match their skills and interests.
The programme welcomes students enrolled in Master’s or PhD programmes. Final-year undergraduate students can also apply. In addition, recent graduates who completed their degrees within the last year remain eligible.
Applicants must demonstrate strong English communication skills. They should also possess excellent research and analytical abilities. Moreover, UNDP expects candidates to show a genuine interest in digital technologies and public sector innovation.
Application process and deadline
The application process includes two required steps. First, candidates must submit their CV and a brief cover letter through the official UNDP Careers platform. They must then complete the mandatory Airtable application form to finish the process.
UNDP will review applications on a rolling basis. Therefore, interested candidates should apply as early as possible instead of waiting for the closing date. The final deadline for applications is September 30, 2026.
