HEC Opens Pak-France PERIDOT Mobility Grant Applications for Phase XIII
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has opened applications for Phase XIII of the PERIDOT Mobility Grant Programme. The initiative supports research collaboration between Pakistan and France. HEC runs the programme jointly with France’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. Applications opened on July 6 and will remain open until September 30, 2026.
Programme supports joint research
The PERIDOT Mobility Grant promotes scientific and technological cooperation between researchers from both countries. It helps faculty members build new partnerships with French universities and research laboratories. As a result, participants can strengthen academic ties and expand international research opportunities.
For this phase, HEC has identified three priority research areas. These include Health Sciences, Sustainable Energy, Agriculture and Food Security, and the Economics of Climate Change. Therefore, researchers working in these fields are encouraged to apply.
Faculty members from both public and private universities are eligible. However, applicants must submit a joint proposal with a faculty member from a French institution. In addition, both researchers must first submit their application through Campus France before applying to HEC.
HEC sets September deadline
HEC said the online application portal became available on July 6. Interested researchers must complete and submit their applications before 4:00pm Pakistan Standard Time on September 30, 2026. Late or incomplete submissions may not receive consideration.
The commission encouraged eligible faculty members to prepare their proposals early. Strong research partnerships can improve the chances of selection. Moreover, international collaboration allows researchers to exchange knowledge, strengthen innovation and address global challenges together.
The PERIDOT Mobility Grant forms part of the Hubert Curien Partnership programme. Over the years, it has helped Pakistani researchers work closely with leading French institutions. HEC expects the latest phase to further strengthen scientific cooperation between the two countries while creating new opportunities for academic excellence and research development.
