WhatsApp Message Animations Return to iPhone Beta
WhatsApp message animations are making a comeback on iPhone. The latest beta version introduces fresh visual effects for chat messages. Users can also choose whether they want to keep the feature enabled. The update recently appeared in WhatsApp’s TestFlight beta program. As a result, selected testers can now preview the new animations before a wider release.
New Animation Style Arrives
WhatsApp previously removed message animations from its iOS app. Since then, messages appeared instantly without any visual effects. However, the company has now introduced a redesigned animation experience. Instead of appearing suddenly, message bubbles now fade into conversations. They also grow slightly before settling into place. This creates a smoother and more polished appearance during chats. The feature first appeared in the Android beta version. Therefore, WhatsApp seems committed to delivering a consistent experience across both mobile platforms. Users can manage the feature through the app’s settings menu. A new Messages option appears under Chats and Animations. It joins existing controls for Emoji, Stickers, and GIFs.
Limited Testing Underway
Currently, only a small group of beta testers can access the feature. WhatsApp often follows this approach when testing new tools and design updates. This method helps developers gather feedback before a larger rollout.
The company has not announced an official release date. However, testing on both iOS and Android suggests progress is moving forward. As a result, public availability could arrive sooner rather than later.
Message animations may seem like a small change. Even so, they can make conversations feel more responsive and enjoyable. If testing continues successfully, iPhone users may soon see the refreshed visual experience in everyday chats.
